“EUROPEAN STORIES AND FACES” PART 4 – NADINE ENDERS FROM VILLINGEN-SCHWENNINGEN, GERMANY

Before Nadine joined PM DM last year, she had worked in a travel agency and therefore is a real expert when it comes to travel management. Meanwhile she is also passionate for her other areas of responsibility. We asked the 29-year-old receptionist, how she has developed over the last year and a half and what she reconciles every day.

» As a receptionist, my daily work routine consists of various tasks. On the one hand, I am responsible for welcoming the visitors, guests and customers. Of course, also most of the callers get to speak with me first. That is why it is important for me to know my company very well in order to always find the right contact person for each inquiry. On the other hand, as a trained travel agent, I also deal with a wide range of travel bookings and reservations. Our employees travel a lot – we have production sites, inter alia, in Thailand, Cambodia and Slovakia. I coordinate the entire business trips. That includes the airport transfers and the flights as well as hotel bookings and transportation at the destination. Of course, I also support the travellers with the necessary visas and documents.

At the development centre in Villingen-Schwenningen, there are almost 400 employees. That means there are a lot of bookings. Thankfully, I usually have competent local contact persons at the worldwide MinebeaMitsumi locations, who kindly support me in many ways and always know a suitable hotel or taxi company. The international cooperation is what I enjoy most – I get to know many people from different countries. Since I started working at PM DM, the travel workload has grown steadily, so I have been able to be involved in optimizing the booking processes to save not only costs but also time. I was fortunate to develop new skills independently as well as being involved in numerous innovations. The most important thing in my job is to be capable of multitasking, I would say. Taking care of the visitors and the travel management are two very different tasks and, of course, I want my colleagues to be as pleased as our external guests.

I am very curious, which new challenges I will face in the future, since PM DM is growing steadily and there are always new exciting projects of our parent company, too. Another advantage of my job at MinebeaMitsumi: I have a great relationship with my colleagues, and I also see some of them in my leisure time on a regular basis. I feel well received at MinebeaMitsumi – and it certainly will never get boring.
