The „PM DM Encouragement Award“ has been initiated in May. It was awarded to three student-teams of the local school „Gymnasium am Romäusring“, which achieved excellent performances in the field of science and technology. Winner of a prize of 100 euros was a project of a pinball machine designed by the students. Its sensors can be controlled via a challenging „Rasperry Pi“-programming and display the current score. The jury was impressed with the dedication and creativity of the teams and will definitely continue the project next year.
In June, the „Gymnasium am Hoptbühl“ was hosted by PM DM. As part of the educational partnership between school and company (initiated in 2017), a „Practice Afternoon“ with the Science and Technology-Class took place once again. The students were given valuable basic knowledge during an introduction to the subject of electric motors. Afterwards they had the opportunity to set up an electric motor themselves together with the PM DM experts. Of course, a little company tour was on the agenda as well. The company’s trainees and students gave insights into the respective professions and answered the student’s questions.
PM DM develops electronically commutated BLDC motors, innovative drive systems and energy harvester systems. Currently almost 400 people are employed in Villingen-Schwenningen.
