Bosch honors supplier excellence: MinebeaMitsumi Inc. receives Bosch Global Supplier Award.
MinebeaMitsumi Inc. ranks globally among the best suppliers of Bosch, the technology and services company, and thus has been honored with a Bosch Global Supplier Award. The award in the "Raw Materials and Components" category recognized the outstanding performance. MinebeaMitsumi is the market leader with a market share of 60% and, therefore, the world's largest manufacturer of miniature ball bearings. Ball bearings are the invisible heroes of everyday life and are used wherever parts are in motion and rotation. They can have an outer diameter of up to 32 millimeters. The smallest ball bearing has an outer diameter of 1.5 millimeters and thus holds the world record.
From its roughly 35,000 suppliers, Bosch singled out 46 suppliers from 11 countries for an award. This is the 18th time that the Bosch Group has rewarded outstanding performance by its suppliers in the manufacture and supply of raw materials, products, or services – notably as concerns quality, costs, sustainability, and innovation. "Supplier networks that help companies compete and innovate are crucial for the resilience of these companies. At Bosch, our awardees play a special part in our efforts to achieve this”, said Dr. Arne Flemming, Head of Supply Chain Management at Bosch. “Our award winners impressed us with their outstanding performance in the manufacture and supply of raw materials, products, and services. Especially in terms of quality, cost, and sustainability, we see them as leading the way.”

Every two years, Bosch honors the pick of its suppliers from around the world with the Bosch Global Supplier Award. The supplier of technology and services rewards outstanding performance in the manufacture and supply of raw materials, products, and services. Based on a range of criteria, award-winners are selected in the categories "Purchasing of Indirect Materials and Services" and "Raw Materials and Components." Bosch has been presenting these awards to honor supplier excellence since 1987, and they are highly regarded in the industry. In the special "Sustainability" category, an interdisciplinary jury evaluates suppliers’ achievements with respect to sustainability. The finalists in this category have a rating of at least A- in the prestigious Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) and are exemplary in their commitment to climate neutrality.
