In daily use

Sensors are the fixed elements of our daily lives that rarely enter our awareness. Generally speaking, they hide inside a great variety of devices. Sensors are used in countless areas to detect a wide range of characteristics or conditions.

For example, they record deformations, weight, or pressure and convert these changes into electronic signals. In our households, cars, or industry, it’s no longer possible to imagine doing without the detectors that facilitate our day-to-day activities. MinebeaMitsumi is currently developing an innovative bed sensor system that can offer sustainable enhancements to patient care.

Our sensors are available in numerous variations - precise, durable and reliable. We offer different types to meet the specific requirements of your applications.

Strain gauge in use

Our sensing products

MinebeaMitsumi strain gauges consist of a very thin etched measuring grid film on a thin plastic carrier that detects expanding and contracting deformations. These are the core elements of many weighing technologies we find, for example, in common home scales but also in crane scales or in determining the stress of materials. The slightest deformation of the measuring grids changes their electric resistance. With load cells, they particularly stand out for their minimal size and weight, sensitivity, and stability. In civil engineering, strain gauges are used in static stress management, but they can also be used in shock or endurance testing of different materials.

Dynamic strain amplifier
Type DC “DAS-406
C”

A strain gauge with high sensitivity and wide frequency response from DC to 200 kHz. In addition to strain, the DAS-406C can also measure stress, pressure, torque, vibration and acceleration and is used for a variety of applications including simple instrumentation amplifiers.

Bridge box

The bridge box efficiently converts the smallest changes in resistance caused by the load on the measuring device into voltage using a Wheatstone bridge circuit.

A load cell is a sensor that detects a force or mass and converts it into an electrical signal. They are used in a variety of areas, from scales and weighing instruments in everyday life to performance testing of presses and motors in industrial applications, helping to improve product quality and productivity. The possible uses vary greatly.

Load cell

The torque transducer, which measures the rotational force (torque), is available in the flange versions (TMHSA, TMHS, TMHFB and TMOFB series) and shaft versions (TMOS series) with optical transmission method, in the shaft versions (TMNR and TMNR-ME series) with rotational transformer method and in the shaft versions (TMBN series) with sliding method.

Torque measurements and torque measurement systems can be designed that are suitable for the respective application.

TMRS & TMHS Series TMNR Series TMBN Series

Torque sensor

Compact and lightweight design with bearingless structure for high rotation. The split structure of the antenna part makes it easy to install and remove.

TMRS

“TMRS” (shaft type) shaft torque measuring device with low capacity

Low capacity (0.5 Nm) but enables highly accurate and fast rotation. Very responsive to detect large torque fluctuations.

TMNR

Torque transducers of the “TMNR” series

Extensive product range from low power models (10 Nm) to high power models (10 kNm). The non-contact signal transmission system eliminates the need for problematic brush replacement and reduces maintenance costs.

Torque transducers of the “TMBN” series for small torques

This series is suitable for measuring very small torques. Compact and lightweight, they can be installed in a space-saving manner.

The vector sensor is a sensor that detects the translational force in three directions.
The sensor can be miniaturized due to its simple structure and is best suited for detecting gripping force, etc.

Vector sensor (3-axis sensor)

These devices are connected to various sensors and transducers, display measured values digitally and output signals that are used to control and monitor measuring systems. The devices from Minebea Intec are weighing modules that achieve an accuracy level of 10000e class III. Response times from 10ms are possible thanks to the high-speed conversion. A 10/100 Mbit/s LAN adapter is also integrated.
