Interoperable network components
for Open Cities

Paradox Engineering’s Smart Urban Network provides cities a unified, interoperable infrastructure to manage
both wireless IoT and wireless highspeed IoT networks, enabling any kind of sensor based or high-bandwidth applications.
This allows cities to connect and control a number of smart applications, sensors and actuators, solving major urban challenges and needs.

Paradox Engineering's technologies are open to standards and impose no limits on the integration of third-party sensors or the design of new services to extend the Smart Urban Network. Different connectivity options are supported, which can be integrated in the same IoT platform to enable and remotely control street lighting, parking facilities, solid waste collection, environmental monitoring, and other urban services using open and standard data models to allow full interoperability in device, data and application management.

Smart Software and Hardware

PE Smart CMS Neptune
Smart CMS

Paradox Engineering's Smart CMS monitors and controls all urban applications and connected devices through intuitive web applications and a new user-friendly interface. The Smart CMS offers outstanding extensibility and interoperability thanks to the standard-based data model and the possibility to easily add new applications, device types and attributes. The multitenancy architecture allows hosting multiple customers on a single cloud-based server, providing adequate data segregation and load balancing.

The platform also grants unparalleled scalability and modularity through the microservices-based backend architecture.

Smart Lighting Node NEMA version

Supporting 7-pin NEMA twist-lock sockets, it can be seamlessly integrated with any LED/HID luminaire and third-party system to enable the full remote control of connected streetlights, performing on/off and dimming functions, executing schedules and customized patterns.

It supports dynamic sensor-based lighting if connected to additional motion sensors, vehicle traffic counters, tilt sensors and other devices.

PE Smart Lighting Node Zhaga
Smart Lighting Node Zhaga version

Plug-and-play controller of luminaire systems, RF-Nodes, sensors and LED drivers, supporting 4-pin Zhaga Book 18 connector twist-lock sockets. Based on standardized DALI2 protocol and specified power supply, it represents a toolless and flexible solution to allow smart remote management of single or grouped luminaires.

Streetlights can be switched on/off and dimmed, while executing stored schedules to ensure quality of service, at the same time reducing power consumption.

MinebeaMitsumi Smart Parking Sensor

Highly performing and reliable wireless vehicle detection sensor for Smart Parking applications. Thanks to the combined use of earth magnetism and radio frequency, it grant the highest possible accuracy in vehicle detection.

It can be easily fixed onto the road surface, the built-in battery ensures up to 10 years life. It stands outdoor installations (IP67 protected), resisting harsh weather conditions and high mechanical constraints.
